What about this ability?
For example -- I have wiki_organizer and wiki_website and I need 2 "wikistyle.css" files when I use menu "Locate Your Wiki > Custom..." |

I agree with M-K that it would be great if each wiki could have its own stylesheet.
I would suggest that when bLADE opens the wiki, if it finds a "wikistyle.css" in the wiki folder it uses that, otherwise it defaults to the "wikistyle.css" in the "\windows" folder. |

I was surprised when bLADE wiki didn't function like this.
Another benefit of having the css in the wiki content directory is that specific
I guess this could be an option:
[ ] use CSS file in wiki directory, if it exists ?
I am certainly going to be trying multiple wikis ... will be interesting to see how it goes |

Once you try this - you will want "interWiki" links.. I don't know if bLADE can provide this yet? I've setup my default file extension to be .wiki - in the hope that Dale can setup interwiki links at some point (I'm guessing it would need a dedicated file type)

InterWiki links would be of benefit for sure.
I am looking at using wiki structure as the backbone to all my life's information.
In that context: business, personal, family, financial information doesn't go all that well together.
ie. I'd probably want my family to access/contribute to the family stuff, but not to my business stuff.
I want my employees to add to the business but I dont want them to access my personal, financial or family stuff.
As you can see, I have my eye on considering using my Wiki for more than one user and more than one purpose, on more than one computer!
I don't know if bLADE wiki will ever head in this direction, nor do I expect it to. My wants are great !
My plan thus far is to have my employees have access to just the business wiki and not know the "path" to the other wikis.
And I can access "other" wikis, because I know where to look
Of course that will be hard as the wiki location will be easily seen in the "Locate your wiki" menu.
I guess I'll have to have separate bLADEwikis.
Stick to 1 bW for business, and the other for personal.
Just thinking out loud here, thanks for listening
FYI, did you know that the capital letters in bLADE are an anagram for DALE ! You heard it here first |

I think you need a server based wiki (i.e. a real wiki) to meet these requirements. THere are loads of them around as I'm sure you know.
bLADE is really only for personal note taking. If you want a more advanced equivalent of bLADE, then have a look at Wikidpad (also free), but it DOES NOT have a mobile client (unless your "mobile" is an Asus EE PC or equivalent Linux box). I'm dithering between the two, with the usefulness of having the pages always on hand on my mobile swinging it to bLADE at the moment. Wikidpad is MUCH more powerful though - and probably couldn't be made a standard WM6 application
Sorry about the long post

I know wikidpad.
Above all else, I need a lightweight business (multi-PC, multi-user) wiki. wikidpad is very much a personal wiki. Yes so is bLADE. But bLADE allows you to display images, and i do like some of the formatting functions.
With wikidpad I kept getting messages like .... is already in use by a different instance of Wikidpad. Connect anyway (dangerous!) ?
I probably didn't give wikidpad a full workup. I know my intended uses for bLADE aren't the target audience thus far but I still really like it
It's a bit lame you can't display images in wikidpad.

But you can!.. and draw graphs & connected networks and execute your own Python based extensions.
Images are stored relatively, interwiki links are possible too. Images become visible in VIEW mode, rather than Edit mode (like bLADE)
I suggestion you give the latest beta another chance (its as solid as a rock)

I am using bLADE as a portable application, so in my case I was referring to {USB drive letter}:\wmwiki\windows\wikistyle.css.
The point being that wherever the application or default "wikistyle.css" resides, it is overridden by one in the folder of the wiki being opened. _________________ The difference between Theory and Reality is much greater in Reality than it is in Theory. |
